I’ve been so organised with Christmas shopping (had the last of it finished a month ago) that I felt I’m now allowed to treat myself a title bit – justified right?! So I spent £19.68 instead of £39.17 – oh yeah! If it wasn’t justified before it certainly is now 😉
I hit boots first (obviously!) and had a look round the Christmas offers, having read SO many reviews of the Collection Lasting Finish Concealer, I thought I might as well see what the hype was about – and at £4.19 it’s hardly bank breaking! I then readied if I spent 82p more I’d qualify for the free gift over £5 which was the Supersize Mascara. After Emma from the East Mids Meet Up kindly out the Collection 5-in-1 mascara in my goodie bag, I’ve abandoned by Bourjois and No7 ones, Collection mascaras are FAB – I’m a changed woman! As there wasn’t much else in the range that I fancied I picked up a really bold violet nail varnish, a shade I’ve wanted for ages, this at £1.99 brought the order total up to £6.18. The mascara is £3.99 and I got that completely free! Yay!
I then hit the No7 counter. From my last shop in Boots the other day I realised I got a £5 off skin care voucher after my receipt. Now for those who haven’t read my End Of Summer Splurges posts (here and here) I am obsessed with my Hot Cloth Cleanser. Nows there’s a lot in the range that I love, but they are pricey, the cheapest skincare products are about £9 and even with my £5 off voucher, I still can’t really afford any of the upper end products. So I had a scout around. I picked up a Cleansing Balm (which was £9.00) I read a review on Lush cleansing balms last night and I’ve yet to try a balm before, so when I picked it up it got me excited and so I didn’t look any further! It’s aimed at dry/very dry skin, I’m a combination skinned girl but when I applied the tester on the back of my hand it felt incredible, silky and so luxurious!! It rubbed the other make up testers I had on the back if my hand too so it already seems like my new favourite make up remover.. Step aside L’Oreal Micellar Solution! It left my skin so soft as well, now who doesn’t want that?! Especially in winter too.. With my £5 off voucher this beauty was only £4!
Next was my jumper, I wondered into New Look initially looking for party dresses (and was disappointed at the lack of selection) so had a wonder round the sale bits, at the mo they’re offering 25/50% off selected ranges. I found this gorgeous cream cable knitted jumper down to £9.50 from £20. I didn’t take much persuading, particularly as there was only one medium left! It’s so soft and cosy and my first jumper buy this year (yes I’m a little late starting!) and I’m so excited to wear it!
And there we have it. I’m quite impressed with my bargain hunting if I do say so myself 😉 this time if year is so good for picking up free gifts and goodies with purchases – or like my post yesterday, picking up amazing sets too! There’s still stock left in stores if yesterday’s The Yule Monty set too!
Hope you’re all enjoying the run up to Christmas as much as me!
