It’s been a while, and it’s been busy!

I’ve got a lot to blog about, from discounted tapered (or cigarette) trousers, to blazers, to make up, to jewellery and to life.

London is THE place to be, and so before I arrived I did a mad shop for work wear (as I have said previously) and I successfully managed it! (just) – It’s a lot trickier work wear shopping on a budget than I assumed and anticipated.

So I’ll try and keep this post concise and to the point and I won’t post up every single picture.

Jewellery

I got everything I wanted from Dorothy Perkins – its beginning to become my new favourite shop! I figured necklaces were the best way to go, I’m not a huge bracelet wearer apart from my Pandora bracelet and I have plenty of earrings.

So I was looking for some statement neckware, and that I found. A chunky chain necklace, was £12.50 and I got it for £7.50, chunky, triangles and points/spikes are definitely on trend this season as well so I thought this a mandatory purchase. (See below left)

The drop triangle necklace above right was another necklace I bought, I like wearing long necklaces, they’re a bit casual, elongate the body and add a bit more oomph if you’re wearing a plain top. This too was £10 down to £7.50. And I also bought a cute bunting style necklace which was cream and gold and came with matching earrings, this was down from £12.50 to £7.50 too.

Blazers

I needed some obvious work appropriate jackets that could potentially be used more casually as well. I found boohoo.com, next.co.uk, Tesco and Primark had everything I needed.

In Store:
Primark
– Basic black suit blazer with silver zip pockets: £19 (no discount).

Tesco – Grey  fitted peplum blazer with small  white heart/spot print: £10 on sale – I also bought the matching tapered suit trousers for £7, also on sale.

Online:

Next – Nude/pale pinkish waterfall fitted suit blazer: Was £42, £16 in sale, with free in store delivery

Boohoo (see below): Red long-line fitted casual blazer with zebra print lining (good for turning up sleeves): Was £25, I paid £10 (plus £3.95 delivery)

Trousers

Newlook is the place to be for this seasons loose tapered or cigarette trousers, this is where I got 3 pairs; floral print,  monochrome paisley print and a fitted suit-style, skinny and polka dot high waisted pair.

All were £16.99 and I got student discount on top which was 20% at the time (they often do high student discount deals in store)

And lastly but most certainly not least!
Make up

Now this is a bit of a cheeky and self indulgent addition to this post, one that I’ve made since being in London and with discount that you can’t get unless you work in the building (I’m interning for Now magazine). I just couldn’t resist adding to though, and it definitely adds to my rep as a bargain queen!

There was a beauty sale on at work by the beauty department, and so I swooped down to find it. I’ve just got back from work now and totted up everything I bought, in total it should have come to £92.55!!! I paid £12.

Phew! We made it to the end.

And this is essentially everything I have bought and so far needed for work life at a major and busy magazine 🙂
